The 2009 Healthcare Advantage Conference offers a unique opportunity to showcase healthcare best practices. We're looking for Thomson Reuters clients to share how their organization has used healthcare business intelligence and benchmarking, referential clinical evidence, clinical workflow, and/or mobility solutions to increase performance efficiency and effectiveness in operations, strategic planning, marketing or clinical quality and patient care.

Take advantage of this opportunity to present at the conference and receive a complimentary registration to the conference. Highlight a business, clinical, or clinical IT challenge that you’ve met by using Thomson Reuters tools and/or services and share your insights with your peers. If you are selected as a breakout session speaker, your conference registration fee is waived — a $995 value.

General Information & Guidelines

  • Submissions will only be accepted via this form. Proposals will not be accepted by e-mail (without the completed form attached), mail or fax.
  • Breakout sessions are 75 minutes in length; typically, one hour for presentations, followed by 15 minutes for Q&A from the audience.
  • Breakout sessions for the 2009 Thomson Reuters Healthcare Advantage Conference will take place on Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7. If you are not available between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on both days, please do not submit a proposal.
  • No more than two presenters will be accepted for any one session. Thomson Reuters will waive the conference registration fee for up to two (2) presenters per session.
  • Travel and hotel expenses and any post-conference workshop fees are the responsibility of the presenter. Post-conference workshop fees are separate from the conference registration fee.
  • In response to Conference attendee preferences, Thomson Reuters requests that presenters provide permission for printing educational handouts of their presentation as well as post-conference online access.
  • Should a presenter or panelist become unavailable, replacements are the responsibility of the author of this proposal.
  • The session proposal form must be completed in full. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
  • The Healthcare Advantage Conference Advisory Committee will review proposals. If accepted, final presentations are due March 13, 2009. Instructions on formatting presentations will be provided to those selected.

The form has 12 sections and must be completed in its entirety. You may not save or retrieve a partial submission, so before beginning, you should have the following information ready:

  1. Presentation Title (Maximum: 50 characters)
  2. Session Topic: Indicate the Thomson Reuters tool(s) or service(s) relevant to your presentation.
  3. Audience Profile: Indicate what audience level your presentation will target: Basic, Intermediate or Advanced.  Also indicate if presentation will be clinical, technical, or business oriented.
  4. Presentation Overview: Describe the educational content of your proposed session. (Maximum: 500 characters, approximately 75 words.)
  5. Session Objectives: List three learning objectives that your presentation will fulfill for attendees. (Maximum: 100 characters per objective.)
  6. Company Description: Indicate how you would like your organization described. (Maximum: 350 characters, approximately 50 words.)
  7. Biographical Information: Provide a brief biography (maximum: 350 characters, approximately 50 words) and the following information for each presenter/panelist. Note: No more than two presenters will be accepted for any single session.
    • Name, Title, Company
    • Address, City, State, ZIP
    • Phone, Fax, E-mail
    • Name as it should appear in the Conference Program, if accepted.
    • Credentials: Up to three credentials (maximum: 30 characters) to appear in the Conference Program, following the presenter's name, if accepted.
    • References: For primary speaker, list recent public speaking experience.
  8. Contact Information: Provide information for the primary contact for the submission.
  9. Presentation Handouts & Distribution: Indicate whether educational handouts of your presentation may be produced for attendees and whether your presentation will be available for post-conference electronic distribution to attendees.
  10. Contingency speaker: Indicate if you are willing to be a backup speaker if not selected initially.
  11. Key Thomson Reuters Contact: Provide the name of your primary contact.
  12. Additional Information: Provide any additional information that you think the review committee should be aware of when considering your proposal. (Maximum: 500 characters, approximately 75 words.)

Please note that if your proposal is accepted, the title, learning objectives and session description are subject to change to ensure consistency and meet requirements for the final conference materials
